On 21 February 2025, ELLIS Alicante held the 3rd Outreach Day to Promote Scientific Careers among Secondary School Students at the University of Alicante. Thirteen schools from across the province took part in the event, bringing together more than 400 students and teachers.

The event was opened by Raúl Ruiz Callado, Vice-Rector for Students and Employment at the University of Alicante.

During the session, Dr Nuria Oliver and researchers from ELLIS Alicante spoke about ethical, responsible and human‑centred Artificial Intelligence (AI). The team shared their career paths, research areas and ongoing projects. Through these stories, students had the opportunity to discover the many ways one can enter the field of AI from different academic backgrounds and professional perspectives.

This initiative aims to inspire the next generation to pursue scientific vocations, make AI more accessible, and highlight its potential as a tool for social good.
